A King County Superior Court judge issued a final order on 13 August 2026 requiring Kalshi to stop offering wagers on sports, elections, politics, entertainment, culture, tech and science, and mentions in Washington, according to the state Attorney General. The order follows a preliminary injunction granted in July, which the Court of Appeals declined to stay.
Kalshi had to put an IP and residency geofence in place by 19 August and a multi-source geofence by 2 September. It is also barred from advertising the covered markets to Washington consumers.
What changes in our data
Washington is limited for Kalshi. The order does not cover all of Kalshi’s wagers; markets outside the listed categories are not named in it.
