What a status means
Each status (available, limited, restricted or unknown) records what a platform's own terms and official sources say about a country or US state on the date shown as "last verified". Three limits follow from that:
- Available is not the same as legal. A platform may accept customers from a country where it holds no local licence, or where residents face their own restrictions. Whether you may lawfully use a service is a question for local law.
- Statuses are point-in-time. Platforms and regulators change rules without notice. A status can be out of date between our checks.
- Unknown means unknown. Where we could not confirm a status from a source, we say so. It is neither a yes nor a no.
The platform's own terms and the regulator's own publications always take precedence over this site. How we verify is explained in the methodology.
No help evading restrictions
We report restrictions so that people can understand them. We do not publish instructions for bypassing geographic blocks, identity verification or sanctions controls, and we do not encourage it. Doing so usually breaches a platform's terms and can lead to frozen funds, closed accounts or legal consequences.
Risk
Crypto assets, leveraged products and event contracts are high risk. Prices are volatile, platforms can fail and you can lose everything you put in. Many of the products described on this site are not covered by deposit guarantee or investor compensation schemes.
Independence
We are not affiliated with any exchange, protocol, prediction market or regulator. No platform pays to be listed, and no payment or commercial relationship influences a status. We do not currently earn commission from links to platforms. If that ever changes, the links concerned will be labelled and this page will be updated before they go live.
Errors and corrections
We work to keep the data accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete or current, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on it (see the terms of use). If you find a mistake, email contact@cryptorestrictions.com with the page address and a source we can check. Confirmed errors are corrected and the verification date updated.
