OKX announced in mid-April 2025 that it was launching its centralised exchange and wallet in the United States, with a regional headquarters in San Jose, California, and Roshan Robert as US chief executive. The launch followed a settlement of about $500 million with the US Department of Justice, announced in February 2025.

What changed

  • Phased rollout. Services reach new US customers in phases, with a nationwide launch planned for later in 2025.
  • OKCoin users migrate. Customers of OKCoin, a US exchange affiliated with OKX, move to the new platform.
  • Settlement entity. The settlement involved Aux Cayes FinTech Co. Ltd., which OKX described as one of many affiliates.

What changes in our data

The United States is limited for OKX at high confidence. OKX INC. holds money transmitter licences in 45 jurisdictions but does not serve New York or the US territories, and the derivatives row is restricted because the US offer covers spot trading and OTC services only.
