On 27 January 2025 Peken Global Limited, the company that operates KuCoin, pleaded guilty to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business and agreed that KuCoin will leave the US market for at least two years. KuCoin said the next day that it had reached a resolution with the US Department of Justice.
The US is restricted for KuCoin at high confidence.
